Databasing Systems
First encounter with databases concerned complete information system for Slovak Insurance Company (nowadays Allianz). I have grasped a very basic but important principle that properly designed and thoroughly implemented database is a key feature for effective management of data and processes. Years after "just" confirmed the phrase from the textbook that databases are everywhere, where data are electronically processed and stored.
For example, in the case of data concerning dynamics of processes and signaling pathways in immune system. Database was created for the sake of their quantitative description with the help of various kinetics schemes.
Relational database model for signal proteins of the immune system
Specialized databases are also very helpful for small projects or partial tasks as has been show during the investigation of binary protein complexes. Focus of the study aimed to map SH3 interactions with peptides and even a small database made the processing of heterogeneous data much effective. One of the recent projects based on database solution deals with the systematization of bibliographical and chronological information. Its goal is to search for historical relationships and developmental hierarchies.
